Duties and Role:

The section where the duties will be performed is within the Chief Quality, Interoperability Branch, Interoperability Assurance Section Office. Within this section there expertise on different Interoperability aspects is gathered and the people form teams to assess interoperability at a multiple type of events. The role is to be a part of a team that deals with planning, execution and reporting on multinational Interoperability test events.

Mainly to support the operational community during exercises and mission preparation events. The person will be integrated in a multinational team of test directors with the knowledge of the specific domain(s) as requested for the profile.

Tasks:
• Participate in interoperability testing events as a Network Engineer and lead planning and execution of Communications Test events she/he is responsible for;
• Participate in Coalition Interoperability Assurance and Validation (CIAV) Working Groups for the different initiatives, like FMN, NRF or ARF;
• Coordinate, plan, schedule, execute and report on Interoperability V&V activities. Estimate the resources and financial requirements. Produce the Event Test Plan and ensures the plan is executed;
• Analyse complex test scenarios based on operational use cases, extract the test conditions, design tests events;
• Manage the execution of the events and its reporting;
• Planning and executing multinational test events.

The duty requires the person to work in an office and IT lab environment. Travel is quite regular and must be taken into account. On average there is at least a week of travel every two months and on occasion is can be multiple weeks in a row.

Requirements
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:

• The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
• A minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience;
• Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency; that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in the duties related to the function of the post;
• Experience as test engineer in interoperability events;
• Experience testing and configuring Commercial standards, like BGP, IPSec, PCN, QoS, SIP, RTP, DNS and PKI.
• Knowledge of ISTQB foundation principles;
• Experience using, and testing in virtualized environments
• Experience in Network Engineering, familiarization with Router Configurations and Interfaces

Desired:
• Advanced certification in the area of testing and testing management;
• Experience with MS-Exchange and SharePoint;
• Experience as a tester or independent verification and validation engineer, during all phases of the project lifecycle;
